Filmmaker's Unprecedented Look at
Abortion Debate Documentary Graphically Captures Abortion Procedure and Anti-Abortion
Protests By EMILY FRIEDMAN, ABC News Oct. 12, 2007
Meet Stacey, a
28-year-old woman who is about to have
an abortion. Watch as she fills out
preliminary paperwork at the doctor's
office, answers questions such as "Are
you definite about your decision?" and
later watch while doctors actually
perform the procedure, in excruciating
detail.
Tony Kaye's
latest documentary, "Lake of Fire,"
takes cameras behind the doors of
abortion clinics and inside the homes of
anti-abortion activists in an effort to
document the heated debate over abortion
in the U.S.
The movie's raw,
unpleasant moments are uncomfortable to
watch, whether you're anti-abortion or
pro-choice. You can't even escape the
graphic nature of the film by sinking
into your seat and covering your eyes.
Some of the most disturbing parts of the
documentary are actually sounds – from
the humming and sucking of the machine
in the procedure room to the squeals and
moans of the women on the table.

Annually, on the first Sunday in

America to stand on a designated local sidewalk and pray for one hour, while
holding one of the following approved pro-life sign messages:
ABORTION KILLS CHILDREN JESUS FORGIVES AND HEALS ADOPTION: THE LOVING OPTION LORD, FORGIVE US AND OUR NATION ABORTION HURTS WOMEN PRAY TO END ABORTION LIFE—THE FIRST INALIENABLE RIGHT
In 2006, well over 1,200 Life

Life Chain Sunday 2007—to be held October 7, Lord willing, from 2:30 to 3:30
in each time zone across North America. To include your city in 2007, notify
National Life Chain of your interest via email National Life Chain or call
(530) 671-5500 and download (from this web site) a copy of the Life Chain
Manual, along with "15 Steps To A Strong Life Chain." Thereafter, inform
your local pastors of your Life Chain plans as early in the New Year as
possible, and ask them to schedule your Chain on their church calendar.
Early notification to pastors helps to emphasize that your Life Chain is
important to you and, hopefully, that it will be to the pastors, also.
“Harrowing” Romanian Abortion Film Wins
Cannes’ Palm D’Or; Second Abortion Film to Win a Prestigious Film Festival
By Peter J. Smith and John Jalsevac
CANNES,
France, May 28, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Judges at the 60th anniversary of
the Cannes Film Festival awarded the coveted Palm d’Or to what is being
described as a “harrowing” film. The winning submission depicts the personal
and moral consequences that a young woman and her friend face as they
attempt to obtain an illegal abortion for the young woman while living in
communist Romania.
Directed by Romanian director Cristian Mungiu and
named for the age of the aborted baby, “4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days” [4
Luni, 3 Saptamini si 2 Zile], the film beat out 22 other contenders for the
top prize.
The low-budget film is set during the final years of
the brutal communist dictatorship of Nicolae Ceausescu, and unfolds in just
one day. The cold colors, the dark topic, and the up-close and personal
approach to story-telling make the film a bleak, but powerful work of art,
say many of those who saw it at Cannes.

“Day of
Silence” Articulates Condemnation of Biblical Values 4/17/2007 By Martha Kleder
This Wednesday, April 18, homosexual students and
their supporters will refuse to participate in class, remaining silent in
protest over the treatment of "sexual minorities." Along with its disruptive
nature in the classroom, the day also sends clear messages to Christian
students that Biblical views of human sexuality are "homophobic," "hateful"
and "discriminatory."
Matt Barber, Concerned Women for America's (CWA)
Policy Director for Cultural Issues says the "Day of Silence" is the
creation of homosexual activist groups hoping to instill a victim mentality
among today's youth.

When his wealthy grandfather dies,
trust fund baby Jason Stevens anticipates a big inheritance. Instead, his
grandfather has devised a crash course on life: twelve gifts designed to
challenge Jason in improbable ways, sending him on a journey of self-discovery
and forcing him to determine what is most important in life: money or happiness.
Jason thought his inheritance was the gift of money and lots of it--but Jason
thought wrong. He had a very simple relationship with his impossibly wealthy
Grandfather, Howard "Red" Stevens. He hated him. No heart-to-heart talks, no
warm fuzzies, just cold hard cash. So of course he figured that when Red died,
the whole reading of the will thing would be another simple cash transaction.
He figured that his Grandfathers money would allow him to continue living in
the lifestyle to which he had become accustomed. But what Red left him was
anything but simple. Red instead devised a plan for Jason to experience a crash
course on life. Twelve tasks, which Red calls "gifts", each challenging Jason in
improbable ways, the accumulation of which would change him forever. See

Amazing Grace (2007)
The fight to end slavery
Christian Movie Review
Guide Rating -
With perseverance, commitment and faith,
accompanied by God's amazing grace, people of passionate convictions
can indeed change the world. This theme permeates the film, Amazing Grace. Two hundred years ago in 1807 the first
anti-slave trade bill was passed by England's Parliament, ending 400
years of slave trading. A brave force led by one persistent man,
upheld by moral integrity, inspiring friends and a driving faith,
paved the way for this world-changing, history-shaping milestone.
The film celebrates the 200th anniversary of this accomplishment and
a Christian hero who fought to end a horrible evil of his time.
Synopsis:
• Genre: Drama;
Historical/Political/Religious Thriller • Release: February 23, 2007 • Rated: PG • Distributed by: Walden Media • Director: Michael Apted • Cast: Ioan Gruffudd (William Wilberforce),
Romola
Garai (Barbara Spooner), Albert Finney (John Newton),
Benedict Cumberbatch (William Pitt),
Michael Gambon (Lord
Charles Fox), Rufus Sewell (Thomas Clarkson),
Youssou
N’Dour (Olaudah Equiano), Ciaran Hinds (Lord Tarleton) • Writer: Steven Knight • Producers: Edward Pressman, Terrence Malick, Patricia
Heaton, David Hunt and Ken Wales
The central figure in
Amazing Grace
is William Wilberforce (1759-1833). He is played by Ioan Gruffudd as
the zealous believer in God, human rights activist and British
member of Parliament, who battled through discouragement and illness
for two decades to end the slave trade in England. In a time of
personal crisis, Wilberforce is inspired and encouraged in his long
fight to abolish slavery by the former slave ship master, John
Newton (Albert Finney), who wrote the beloved hymn "Amazing Grace"
following his conversion to Christianity.
Children of Men: A New Movie
Looks at the Consequences of Sterile Sex Now Playing In Local
Theaters. Rated R, heavy use of F word in first half
... in contrast to sterility? Yahoo Movie Theater Guide
Movies, like all forms of art, reveal something
of the human soul. They can be a kind of confession. Our sins, our
fears, our inner contradictions, our worst nightmares — all the kinds of
things that people don't talk about in "polite" conversation — often
find an outlet, consciously or unconsciously, on the big screen.
A new movie called Children of Men
seems to offer just such a confession. It taps into the inevitable
psychological disturbance that stems from our culture's widespread
disregard for new life and the seemingly omnipresent preference for
sterilized sex: "Having sex: nothing better. Having babies: nothing
worse." Doesn't this pretty much sum up the way the world thinks? The
schizophrenia inherent in such a blatant bucking of reality is bound to
cause major brain spasms. And these major brains spasms can turn into a
major motion picture like this one.
"In 20 years, women are infertile. No children.
No future. No hope. But all that can change in a heartbeat." That's the
caption that appears above a small human pictured in-utero on the
promotional poster for Children of Men. The poster alone is an
amazingly powerful pro-life message from the mainstream entertainment
industry.
In a recent interview, Clive Owen, who plays
the movie's reluctant hero Theo, observed: "The film is looking at the
way we're heading and saying, ‘We should be careful.'"
March for Life takes over Capitol Campus Anti-abortion
rally draws 2,500 people, protesters
By Kurt Ackerson and Adam
Wilson (with a decidedly pro abortion bias, but only news
story found!) The Olympian
Sixteen-year-old
Seattle resident Jessica Muller said she isn't very
political.
"That is," she
said, "until the conversation turns to moral
issues."
Her mother,
Rita Muller, agreed. She said it was Jessica's idea
to drive with her mom and sister to Olympia on
Monday for an anti-abortion rally organized by March
for Life.
There were
many other children and teenagers at the event,
which drew about 2,500 participants to the Capitol
Campus.
Even with a morning of rain,
about 60 turned out for the Vancouver rally to stand in front of the
courthouse, holding signs, praying and singing songs from 1 to 2 pm.
